Happy New Year from the College of Law!

We have high hopes for 2014 at the College of Law.  Let me highlight two major events in January.

34th Annual Marks Memorial Lecture.   Thursday, January 23rd, 5-6 p.m.

Justice Goodwin Liu of the California Supreme Court, and a former member of the Berkeley Law faculty, will speak on Justice and the Distribution of Educational Opportunity.

Saving the Neighborhood-Full Day Conference.   Friday, January 31st 9a.m.-4:30p.m.

Join us at the law school as we celebrate the new book by our colleague Carol Rose and Columbia Law School professor Richard Brooks, exploring the history and continuing relevance of racially restrictive housing covenants.

Panelists include leading scholars from around the country.  They are:

  • Robert Gordon (Professor of Law, Stanford and Chancellor Kent Professor Emeritus of Law and Legal History, (Yale Law School),

As 2014 unfolds, we look forward to telling you about life at Arizona Law.  And there is much to tell.

As everyone who follows legal education knows, these are challenging times.  Arizona Law continues to navigate these turbulent waters from the northern end of the Sonoran Desert.

We continue to admit and train students who are as capable, as creative, and as committed to the law as the generations who have come before.  And we continue to innovate what happens within and beyond the College of Law so that our great students will have the fullest range of the opportunities in the profession.

We will soon return in Wildcat Wednesday-Letter of the Law to stories about current students, alumni, and faculty.  The Arizona Law community is infinitely deep and diverse, and we look forward to sharing the stories of its members.

For now, we have put together a photo collage selected from the 2013 editions of Letter of the Law.   Enjoy.

Again, Happy New Year!
