Board of Visitors In 1970, the College of Law faculty authorized the Dean to proceed with the creation of a Board of Visitors. Members of the Board of Visitors meet annually at the College of Law with the purpose of providing the Dean, and indirectly the faculty, a sounding board for the College's operations and plans. It is of great consequence to the College to have the benefit of opinions of leading practitioners and academics who can share their experience and wisdom. Currently, the Board of Visitors has two subcommittees, which focus on the the College's curriculum and development efforts. Members of the Board of Visitors are also assisting the College with the development of new initiatives in which practitioners' voices will be part of the student experience. The annual meeting includes an "Academic Summit" to explore methods to improve legal education and ease students' transition from law student to lawyer.
