| You may support The University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law in
two primary ways: our Annual Fund and our Endowment Fund. We need your support
of both, in order to meet the ongoing and long-term needs of the College. All
law schools that attain and maintain excellence do so through both types of
support.
The Annual Fund helps the College of Law maintain its margin of excellence.
Annual Fund gifts not only provide a major source for scholarships and other
student aid, but they also give the Dean invaluable flexibility in spending
where the need is greatest or when special opportunities arise. Because needs
and opportunities differ over time, it is important to have a robust Annual
Fund to replenish this vital resource. Moreover, the Annual Fund provides support
for much of the College’s operating budget. Without it, many of our offerings
for students and alumni could not happen.
The Endowment is the College of Law’s foundation. Endowment funds provide
a constant source of income over time, on which the College can depend
for its long-term commitments to its people, and for its academic programs.
Unlike other gifts, which are expended for short-term needs, gifts for
the Endowment are invested and the principal is held in perpetuity.
Endowment funds typically are dedicated to particular purposes, consistent
with donor desires, such as Faculty Chairs and Professorships, Student
Endowed Scholarships, or gifts to the Library, Clinic or Professional Outreach
Funds.
