E-Due Diligence: The Use of Social Networking Websites in the Hiring and Employment Process
Saturday, November 7, 2009
James E. Rogers College of Law, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Cost: FREE

Presenters: Jane Korn, Vice Dean and John D. Lyons Professor of Law and Paula Nailon, Asst. Dean for Professional Development

Increasingly, employers are looking online to see what they might learn about a candidate that might not be apparent from a resume, interview or reference check.  E-Due Diligence is a term that didn’t exist 10 years ago, yet these days it is a hot topic for discussion.  Should you be monitoring Facebook, MySpace, blogs and other websites to see what your candidates and/or employees are doing or saying about you, and to what degree are other law firms doing this?  How can you know if what you find online is true or accurate?  Is there a point at which E-due diligence becomes unlawful?  Should you have a policy about internet use by employees?  Join us for a lively and interactive discussion that will address these questions and more.

If this IS your reunion year, visit the reunion registration page to register for any or all of the weekend events and enter your information for your Class Yearbook.

If this is NOT your reunion year but you would like to attend the free CLE, visit our event registration page to register ONLY for the Homecoming CLE.
