The 16th Conference of Asian Pacific American Law Faculty together with the Western Law Teachers of Color annual meeting will be held at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law from March 4-6, 2010.
Various plenary sessions will consider Intellectual Property and Race, Immigration and Crime, Health Care Law and Policy, The Japanese American Internment and Contemporary National Security, and Race and Political Participation.
This year's conference hotel is the Westward Look Resort, which has wonderful facilities including swimming, hiking and biking, horseback riding, tennis, and nearby golf. The conference runs from Thursday afternoon to Saturday noon, so attendees who bring their families will have ample opportunity for weekend recreation.
CAPALF/WLTC conferences are open to all members of the legal community, including faculty, students, and practicing lawyers - though there is a registration fee for participation.
CAPALF/WLTC conferences have three main components:
1. Presentation of works in progress and commentary
2. Main thematic plenary panels and keynote addresses
3. Discussion of pedagogy and the art of scholarship
We look forward to seeing you in sunny Tucson, Arizona at the beginning of March!
