Volunteer Lawyers Program of Arizona

Non-Legal Community Service Activities

Monthly Community Service Board Projects

Once a month throughout the academic year the Community Service Board sponsors a law school community service project. Projects usually take place on a Saturday morning. Past projects have included helping low-income families build homes through United Housing; volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House; organizing a team for the local AIDSWalk; helping Native Seed Search on their farm south of Tucson; and organizing activities for children at a local hospital. For more information, contact the College of Law Community Service Board or Martha Fenn, Coordinator of Special Projects (621-1166)

Lawyers for Literacy

In conjunction with the Pima County Young Lawyers Division, law students tutor local elementary school children in a one-on-one setting for an hour a week on Monday evenings from 6:00-7:00 p.m. The program begins in October and continues through mid-May.
