J.D. with Advanced Standing

 

Thank you for your interest in our unique J.D. with Advanced Standing program for foreign lawyers offered by the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law.

 

We hope that these web pages and our on-line application process will provide you with all necessary information.The J.D. with Advanced Standing option for foreign lawyers offers candidates an opportunity to graduate with a JD degree in two years by crediting up to one year (29 units) for non-U.S. legal studies, based on an evaluation of each applicants grades and courses.

 

For those who also have an LL.M. degree from an ABA-accredited law school, we will consider up to 17 units of credit from a U.S. LL.M. program--based on an individual evaluation of grades and courses--thereby reducing study time to as few as three semesters.

 

All J.D. candidates begin their studies in the Fall term. The J.D. program will begin in advance of fall term with specialized orientation programs, including those with advanced standing.

 

Applications will be accepted year-round, with May 15 being the J.D. with Advanced Standing application deadline for consideration for the following fall term.
