The Rogers Program on Law in Society

The Human Rights Colloquium at the Rogers College of Law - 2009

Mark Denbeaux, clinical professor of law at Seton Hall Law School, will present his work on behalf of detainees held at Guantanamo Bay.  Prof. Denbeaux compiled the first major report on who these detainees were, why they were being held at Guantanamo, and how many of them actually presented security threats to the United States.  His work provided the first strong foundation for the movement to close Guantanamo.  Given President Obama's decision to close Guantanamo, Prof. Denbeaux's visit could not be better timed.
