On Friday November 13, 2009 at 12noon, Professor S. James Anaya will give a talk about his work as the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights and fundamental freedoms of indigenous people. The talk will be in Rountree Hall, Room 204. The talk is free and open to the public.

Dr. Lloyd Burton, Program Director of the Environmental Policy, Management, and Law Concentration at the School of Public Affairs, University of Colorado, Denver, will give a presentation at noon on Friday, October 30 as part of the IPLP Colloquium Series. The theme of the colloquium series this Fall is “Connecting with Culture” and Dr. Burton will speak about issues related to American Indians and federal public lands, focusing in particular on the Place and Native Voice Project, which trains American Indian students to work as cultural interpreters at National Parks. The talk is free and open to the public, and will be held in room 118 of the Rogers College of Law.
