Welcome to the Rogers College of Law Exchange Program

Canada, Mexico, France or Puerto Rico for a semester!

Second and third year University of Arizona JD candidates at the Rogers College of Law are eligible for one-semester visits under three separate exchange programs,

1) the North American Consortium on Legal Education (NACLE)

UA law students typically visit at one of four Canadian partners, and Mexican

Universities are available but require fluency in Spanish (no English coursework).

2) University of Puerto Rico Law School

3) the University of Lyon (Universite Jean Moulin Lyon 3

These are “home-home” exchange programs.  Rogers College of Law students continue to pay their College of Law tuition via their Arizona bursar’s account (Student Link) as they normally would, and remain eligible for most financial aid.

How to Apply

Formal application is made to Prof. David A. Gantz by downloading a PDF Exchange application, and submitting by email (preferred) or print and deliver to 2nd floor Law Commons mail boxes.

A decision whether to exchange for either a fall or spring visit must be made during the prior spring (by March 1st); however, individual host university rules vary.

As a general rule (except for the University of Puerto Rico), no more than two Rogers College of Law students may visit simultaneously at a single foreign institution, so early application is advisable.  Documentation requirements are established by each foreign school.

As there are limited opportunities available, it is important that College of Law students apply for visits only if they are reasonably sure that they intend to make the visit, and notify UA exchange administrators immediately of any change of plans.
