Biographical Information

Robert Mundheim has been a leader across the worlds of law, business and politics. He served as a professor and Dean at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, as General Counsel at the U.S. Treasury Department, where he played a substantial role in negotiating the release of the U.S. hostages in Iran, as Special Counsel to the Securities and Exchange Commission, and as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Salomon Inc. Professor Mundheim chaired the ABA's Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility, and served on the Council of the ALI for nearly 30 years. He is Of Counsel to the firm of Shearman and Sterling in New York.
