I am an almost-native Tucsonan who graduated from University High School in 1994. In 1998, I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Classical Humanities. I earned a Masters Degree in Education Administration from Chapman University in 2003, which was also the year that I graduated from the James E. Rogers College of Law. Later that same year, I was admitted to the Arizona State Bar and have remained a member in good standing ever since. I began working for the City of Tucson as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in 2004, and was promoted to Associate Prosecuting Attorney in 2007. This is the position I currently hold. Over the course of my career, I have prosecuted all types of offenses, ranging from minor civil infractions to vehicular fatalities. I have tried well over 50 jury trials and hundreds of bench trials. I have also conducted numerous evidentiary hearings on all manner of Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment issues. I have conducted Frye Hearings, Franks Hearings, and was heavily involved in source code litigation. In addition to my courtroom duties, I have coordinated and presented a number of in-house CLE programs on topics such as DUI investigations, the presentation of scientific evidence to a jury, and misdemeanor sex offenses. I have also critiqued new attorneys as part of the Arizona Prosecuting Attorneys Advisory Councils basic advocacy course, and have taught several times on behalf of the Arizona State Bar. |
