| Robert Hornick has been engaged in the private practice of law since 1973, concentrating on international arbitration, commercial transactions and Indonesia. He acted as lead counsel during the 1980s and early 1990s for the foreign investor in the four Amco arbitrations against the Government of Indonesia and defended the Government of Sri Lanka in the first ICSID claim ever brought under a bilateral investment treaty. His commercial clients have included the foreign branch offices of several large U.S. and European banks, an international telecommunications company, a European engineering and construction company and a U.S. pharmaceutical company as well as various Indonesian and other Southeast Asian enterprises. Mr. Hornick has also served as a consultant on Indonesian law and law reform to several U.S. and international agencies including U.S. A.I.D., Harvard Institute for International Development, U.N.D.P. and The World Bank, and has testified before courts and arbitral tribunals as an expert on Indonesian law. He has lived in India, Indonesia and Singapore, and currently resides in New York. Foreign language: Bahasa Indonesia.
