Personal Statement

As State Election Director for the Arizona Secretary of State Jan Brewer, I oversee the Election Services Division, which certifies state candidates, initiatives and referenda for the ballot; transmits and certifies the results of statewide elections; registers and accepts filings for lobbyists; accepts and files campaign finance reports; tests and certifies voting devices used by the counties; and trains and certifies county election officials among other filing duties. I have spoken at many seminars regarding Arizona election law and have authored two cover stories in the Arizona Attorney magazine relating to Arizona Election Law (March 2001 and November 2006). I served as chair of the State Bar of Arizona's Election Law Continuing Legal Education Program in April of 2006, and served on an election law panel at the Arizona Judicial College this past summer.
