Personal Statement

Prior to joining the University of Arizona in 2000, where she focuses on professional development for third year law students and recent graduates, and has developed an expertise in government and public interest legal employment, Ms. Nailon served as Director of Court Services (1997 - 1999), Legal Operations and Caseflow Manager (1996 - 1997) and Law Clerk to the Presiding Judge at the Pima County Superior Court (1994 - 1996).

She is active in several professional associations, including the National Association for Law Placement (Board of Directors, 2005 - 2007, Liaison to the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, 2003 - present, Public Service Committee Chair, 2003 - 2004, Regional Coordinator, 2002 - 2003); State Bar of Arizona (Committee on Mentoring, 2003 - present, Legal Services Committee, 2000 - present, Task Force on Persons with Disabilities in the Legal Profession, 2001 - present, Coordinator of High School Mock Trial Regional Competition, 1977 - 2003, Secretary & Executive Council Member - Young Lawyers Division, 1995 - 1997, Recipient Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year Award, 1999); Arizona Women Lawyers Association (State Board of Directors, 1997 - 2004, Southern Chapter Steering Committee, 1998 - 2006, Southern Chapter President, 1995 - 96); and the American Bar Association (Member, Section Chairs Outreach to Law Students Committee 2000 - present).
