  • Funds are available through Title IV federal financial aid (federal loans) through application of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and determination of eligibility.   The FAFSA must be filed for the 2009/2010 academic year if not already applied for.
  • Note under the Summer Federal Work Study Program:   Both the 2009/2010 and the 2010/2011 FAFSAs must be filed no later than Valentine's Day, February 14, 2010 for priority processing. For the 2010/2011 academic year, use estimated 2009 income figures.  You are required to file a correction to the FAFSA once your taxes have been filed for 2009.
  • If you have borrowed your maximum combined Federal Stafford Loan eligibility of $20,500 for the 2009/2010 academic year for fall and spring, funding for summer is limited to additional Graduate Plus Loan per required credit check.

    • Minimum cumulative grade point average has been maintained.
    • Maximum cumulative units have not been exceeded.

Summer attendance at the student's expense may be necessary to reinstate financial aid eligibility for fall and spring 2010/2011. If the student is deemed to be ineligible for academic progress reasons, and if any financial aid has been disbursed, the student will be billed for the amount which must be returned to the University of Arizona.
  • At the end of Summer Sessions I and II, satisfactory progress standards will be reviewed for all summer financial aid recipients. Failure to meet the satisfactory progress standards could result in cancellation of financial aid eligibility for fall and spring 2010/2011. Fall 2010 financial aid cannot be released until this monitoring has been completed, regardless of any previous disbursement schedule the student may have received.
