Printing & Copying
Students can print from any computer in the Law Library or from their laptops on the College of Law network. When using a library computer it is best to be logged in as a student. Once the print job is sent, it will be available at both print release stations: the one in Room 9 at the foot of the stairs and the one outside the reference office. Copies are $.10/page. Students can pay for copies using their CatCards loaded with CatCa$h (http://catcash.arizona.edu). At the printer station, swipe the CatCard or insert cash to view queued print jobs. Select the job to print by clicking on it.
Lexis and Westlaw print jobs will be sent to the Lexis and Westlaw printers in Room 9 at the foot of the stairs on the lower level of the library as long as your personal Westlaw and Lexis printer settings are set to do so (that is usually the default for students--if your print job is not forthcoming, please check your print settings.) There is no charge for Lexis or Westlaw printing in this manner. Please be aware, however, that extremely large print jobs monopolize the printers and prevent other students from printing. Be careful and courteous in choosing which documents to print from Lexis or Westlaw.
Visitors can print from any of the public computers in the law library. When sending a print job, you will be prompted to name the print job. All print jobs go to the print-release stations outside the Circulation area. Printing costs ten cents per page. the printers will accept cash ($1s, $5s and coins) or Visitor Cards. Visitor Cards are available free of charge at the circulation Desk. They must then be loaded with funds (debit or credit card) at the CatCa$h website: http://catcash.arizona.edu. At the printer station, swipe the CatCard or insert cash to view queued print jobs. Select the job to print by clicking on it.
The two Shepard’s machines located outside the Reference Office will print to the print release stations. However, printers should print from the browser instead of clicking the Lexis print button. To print from Shepard’s, go to the File menu in the upper-left corner of the window and select “Print...”; You will then be prompted to name the print job. The print job will then be sent to the print release station.
There are two copiers in the library. One is in the Circulation area near the Reference Desk. The other is in Room 9 at the foot of the stairs on the lower level.
Copies cost ten cents per page. Both copiers take cash--coins, ones and fives, as well as CatCards and Visotor Cards. Note that the old SmartChip system has been replaced with the new CatCa$h system. This system uses money residing on the magnetic stripe rather than in the chip. Beginning November 16, 2010, CatCard holders may convert any cash remaining on their CatCard chip to CatCa$h in person at the Meal Plans office in the Student Union. The conversion of funds must be completed by February 4, 2011. New funds may be added online at http://catcash.arizona.edu using a debit or credit card. Members of the public may obtain a complimentary Visitor Card at the ciruclation desk and add funds using the online method just described.
