Release of Information

The University and the College of Law comply with all provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) dealing with the release of education records. A copy of the University of Arizona's policy for implementation of the Act is available in the Offices of the Registrar and the Dean of Students, or at the followingwebsite:
http://catalog.arizona.edu/policies/994/relsinfo.htm

ANY STUDENT WHO DOES NOT WISH TO HAVE DIRECTORY INFORMATION MADE PUBLIC, SHOULD PERSONALLY NOTIFY THE COLLEGE OF LAW'S REGISTRAR'S OFFICE AND THE MAIN CAMPUS REGISTRAR'S OFFICE.

Procedures

First-year students are assigned both courses and instructors for all classes in the first year. For registration for the Spring Semester of the first year, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs distributes instructions to each first year student (during the month of October or November) on how to register.

Registration procedures for second and third year students will be distributed at the College of Law in October, for the following spring semester and in March, for the following fall semester.

Policy

Students must be registered by the 7th day and no late registrations will be accepted after the 21st day of class. Registration is not complete until registration fees, and tuition, if appropriate, are paid. Failure to pay by the 21st day will result in the student not being allowed to enroll, even if the student has been attending classes. Late registration after this date will not be accepted unless the student submits a written appeal to the Registrar and can document extenuating circumstances such as medical problems (physically incapacitated and not able to be present), legal problems, or some other academic commitment which precluded enrolling prior to the 21st day.

Legal Residency

A student classified as a nonresident who desires to obtain legal residency for tuition purposes must present proof of his or her manifested intention to become an Arizona resident. For information about the procedure to be followed, contact the Domicile Classification Officer in the Modern Languages, Room 347 prior to registration at 621-3636.
