Advanced Legal Writing

Students are assigned to work directly with judges in various local, state, and federal courts.

This course has both field and class components.  Students will spend at least 100 hours working directly with the court to which they are assigned. Periodic class meetings and individual conferences with the instructor are also required.

Students will produce a variety of written work for the judicial chambers.  They will also be required to submit periodic journals, time records, and a final reflection paper.

Students will be evaluated based on the quality of class-component work and in consultation with the student’s supervising judge.

This course satisfies the Professional Skills curricular requirement.
