| Overview | This course will provide an introduction to civil liability for personal injuries and other harms. We will cover intentional torts (such as battery, assault, or trespass), but most of our time will be spend on the law of accidents. We will focus on claims brought under a theory of negligence, but the course provides an introduction to various topics in strict liability. As part of the first year curriculum, this course will also introduce selected concepts and themes in the law, including deterrence, compensation, and accountability. |
