This course will expose each student to key types of white collar offenses within the context of a focus on ethics and compliance, all through learning how to investigate, prosecute, and defend white collar crime cases, as well as how to prevent or minimize such cases in any organization. Guest speakers will participate on a regular basis. This course will be offered as a joint seminar, with University of St. Thomas students and Minnesota guest speakers participating through interactive video. A critical component of the course will be experiential learning. Grading is based on a final paper in lieu of an exam, a short paper assignment, and a small group compliance exercise.
Enrollment is limited to 20 students.
White Collar Crime in a Nutshell and all other reading assignments will be posted electronically.
