Course Description

This course studies the rules that govern the admissibility of evidence in civil and criminal trials.  It is based on the Federal Rules of Evidence and covers general relevance, special relevance, policy exclusions, privileges, the hearsay rule, non-hearsay, hearsay exceptions, witness competency, direct examination, cross examination, and impeachment of witnesses, exhibits, judicial notice, burdens of proof and presumptions.  The differences between the Federal and Arizona rules are also covered.
