The program consisted of two parts:

• “A Conversation on the Constitution: Judicial Independence”
  This is a video presentation featuring Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, Justice Anthony Kennedy and Justice Stephen Breyer. The program was specifically designed for use in school and community celebration of Constitution Day. The Justices address a variety of issues on the topic of judicial independence.

• Live panel discussion:“The Rights and Responsibilities of An Independent Judiciary”
  RonNell Andersen Jones, Distinguished Faculty Fellow at the College of Law and a former Supreme Court Clerk, will moderate a panel discussion with:
• The Honorable W. Scott Bales, Supreme Court of Arizona
• The Honorable Andrew Hurwitz, Supreme Court of Arizona
• The Honorable Stephen McNamee, U.S. District Court
• Representative Stephen Tully, Majority Leader, Arizona House of Representatives

Those interested in attending should contact Donna Ream at 520-626-1629 or via email at ream@law.arizona.edu.  The program can also be viewed live via the internet from the College of Law website at www.law.arizona.edu, starting at 3:00 p.m. It will later be archived and accessible from the College’s homepage. KUAT-TV (PBS) will also broadcast the lecture in its entirety on the UA Channel on September 26th. The UA Channel is located on Cox, Channel 18 within the City of Tucson; Cox, Channel 7 in Sierra Vista, and Comcast, Channel 76 in the City of Tucson and Oro Valley. Additional InformationVisitor parking is available for a fee at several parking garages on campus. A campus visitor parking map can be viewed at http://parking.arizona.edu/pdf/maps/visitor.pdf. The Park Avenue garage is the closest to the College of Law. Please allow time to find an alternate garage, as this one may be full on the day of this event.
