  1. Could you please give me more information on how to register for one of the institution computers available to law students?

  1. You can register to use one of the law school computers at http://www.law.arizona.edu/ualaw/academicprogram/examsoft/examsoftstudentselect.cfm

  2. Examsoft is not available on Macintosh computers.

  3. You cannot register for Examsoft via main campus 'Student Link'. To download Examsoft please visit www.examsoft.com/arizonalaw and click on Exam Takers.

  4. Yes, you may use a CD-R or CD-RW, but you will want to modify your drive location to point to your writable CDROM in the 'Preferences' after you install Examsoft. Network accessibility is not available at this time. Don't forget you also need to register for the classes you plan to use Examsoft for at http://www.law.arizona.edu/ualaw/academicprogram/examsoft/examsoftstudentselect.cfm

  5. You shouldn't need a floppy/cd to 'register'. You need a CD/floppy to take a qualification exam and an internet connection to register.

  6. No. You must either use a floppy disk or a CD-R/CD-RW.

  7. No. You must register for one at http://www.law.arizona.edu/ualaw/academicprogram/examsoft/examsoftstudentselect.cfm

  8. No. The lab does not have Examsoft installed. The library typically has one or two machines back in the "Freedom Shrine" area for you to practice on prior to your first exam. Availability times of this will be emailed to you or posted on the Examsoft main page.

  9. As more and more people obtain their own laptops, the number of people who choose to use the law school provided computers is reduced. Also, not everyone uses a computer for each exam and may choose to hand write.

  10. During exam time, there are notes posted on each exam room that an exams are in session. You may bring earplugs if you desire to help with any possible noise.


  11. No. The law school does not rent laptops. The law school has a dedicated exam room for institutional computers. You must register to use one of these computers for your exam(s) http://www.law.arizona.edu/ualaw/academicprogram/examsoft/examsoftstudentselect.cfm

  12. To pay for Examsoft visit Financial Services Room 118.

  13. You do not need to worry about any formatting such as font type, size, margins, line spacing, or pagination. Any formatting you use will be for your reading comfort only. When the exams are printed, they are printed to a default configuration as determined by the law school.

  14. Yes, you may use earplugs.

  15. Immediately get the attention of the proctor. The proctor will attempt to fix the problem. If the problem cannot be resolved, the proctor will recover your exam file and you will be expected to hand write for the remainder of the exam period.

  16. Yes. There are no spell check restrictions on any exams.


  17. No. You may take restroom breaks, but you are not allowed extra time. If your computer malfuctions, you must be prepared to begin handwriting your exam.

  19. You can find your exam number by logging into Arizona Law Forums from the College of Law website. Click the "Profile" link at the top of the page, and you should see your Exam number, which you will use for all of your Fall, 2004 exams.
