This web page is a pathfinder for research on the historic treatment of indigenous peoples in the United States and Canada. It is designed to give the user an in depth view of the best resources available in researching the origins and sources of Native North Americans rights to self-determination and sovereignty. In particular, this web page will serve as a guide to the most useful and comprehensive materials available on the subject. This pathfinder will primarily focus on the historic treatment of the people indigenous to the United States and Canada and the development of Indian Law in these countries, but will also provide some insight into the issues surrounding self-determination and sovereignty today.
