In the event of a disaster, it is essential that certain equipment, supplies and services be available in order to adequately deal with the conditions encountered. Some of these can be obtained through other University departments when they are needed, while it may be necessary to purchase or contract for others off campus. However, it is advisable that many of the basic supplies be obtained and stored on-site or at a location immediately accessible to Library disaster personnel so that response to an emergency does not suffer from excessive delay.
