Address by President Likins. On September 11 President Likins will address the UA campus community at Noon on the Mall.  All students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.

The Law Women's Association will be having its first meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 10 at 12:15 in Room 140.  We will be discussing upcoming events including the Bigs-Littles Party, care-kits for local women's shelters, and our first Speakeasy.  The Arizona Women Lawyer's Association will provide munchies (not pizza) and give a quick presentation about their organization. Come join us for fun and food!

There will be a Teen Court orientation meeting on Monday, September 9 (Rm. 146), and Thursday, September 12 (Rm. 140) from 12:15 - 1:00 p.m.  We need a few dedicated law students to teach basic law-related education to middle school and high school students, and to serve as the judge in a courtroom.  This is a great opportunity to make a big difference in the lives of Tucson teens.  If you are interested in this very exciting and rewarding program, or would like more information, please attend one of the two orientation meetings next week.  There will be pizza and drinks for everyone!

REGISTRATION NOTE:  If you ADD any classes after the deadline of September 16, 2002, you will also be assessed the $250.00 LATE FEE.

LAW SCHOOL COMMUNITY - Everyone is invited to the Quarles and Brady Seminar Room Dedication on Thursday, September 12, 2002 at 5:00 p.m. in Room 128.  Reception to follow in the law school lobby.  R.S.V.P. to Donna Ream in Development and Alumni Relations (Room 120) or call at 626-2400 or e-mail at

Introduction to Legal Research Class for 1Ls: During the week of September 16, all first-year students are required to attend a one-hour class taught by the librarians on legal research.  The class, which will be offered at twelve different times during the week, will introduce you to the basic skills you will need to find legal materials in the law library using standard legal citations.  Ten classes will be held at 9 and 10 AM, Monday through Friday, and two more at 1 PM, Tuesday and Thursday.  Please stop by the library circulation desk soon to sign up.

GETTING ATTIRED PROFESSIONALLY (G.A.P.) - The James E. Rogers College of Law is sponsoring the 4th annual G.A.P. program for students on Wednesday, September 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Room 106 of the law school.  At this event, each student may sort through racks of donated professional clothing and select a suit or dress to wear during interviews.  Also available at the G.A.P. while supplies last - Dillards Department Store has generously donated certificates for 25% off their suits.  Please see Donna in the Development and Alumni Relations Office (Room 120), if you have any questions.
