STUDENT ENRICHMENT FORUMS. This semester the College of Law will offer a series of Student Enrichment Forums in which professors give lunchtime presentations about areas of current interest in their work. Each forum will take place in the Sullivan Room from 12:15 - 1:00 p.m., and pizza and drinks will be provided. Space is limited to 25 students per forum, so sign up early for forums you would like to attend. To sign up, sign your name on the list outside Martha Fenn’s office (Rm. 238), or e-mail her (fenn@law.arizona.edu) with the forum you would like to attend. (Because we are not sure what the response will be, we are asking that for now you sign up for no more than 2 forums.) The schedule is as follows:
Study Guide Sale! LWA’s Annual Fall Study Guide Sale will take place on Monday and Tuesday (9/15 - 9/16) from 10:15 a.m. - 1:00 pm in the lobby. All proceeds from the upcoming sale will help fund worthy causes in the law school and the community-at-large, including the 1L orientation dinner, the Bigs-Littles mentoring, and speakeasies. For more information please contact jackie.nicol@law.arizona.edu.
All Students, Faculty and Staff Invited to Help Build a House. What? You missed Building Freedom Day on 9/11? Here's another opportunity to get involved with Habitat for Humanity and the Pima County Bar Association. PCBA is sponsoring a home for a local Pascua Yaqui family through Habitat for Humanity, and has asked for the Law School's support. The Community Service Board invites you to come on out on Saturday, September 20, to continue work on the home. We need volunteers for two shifts: 7:00 - 9:30 a.m. and 9:30 - Noon. You may sign up for either shift (or both!). If you would like to join us, please sign up on the sheet posted in the Main Lobby or e-mail Martha Fenn at fenn@law.arizona.edu. There are limited spots available, so sign up before they're all gone! DEADLINE FOR SIGNING UP: Wednesday, September 17.
First Year Students: During the week of September 15 and September 22, Lexis and Westlaw representatives will be at the College to give presentations to 1st year students. You will learn how to find documents, use templates, and print your documents. You will also receive your passwords. Attendance is required. For your section's schedule, please stop by Professor Rabe's office in Room 212. If you have any questions, please see Davon May in Room 244.
