ANNOUNCEMENTS

STUDENT ENRICHMENT FORUMS.  This semester the College of Law will offer a series of Student Enrichment Forums in which professors give lunchtime presentations about areas of current interest in their work. Each forum will take place in the Sullivan Room from 12:15 - 1:00 p.m., and pizza and drinks will be provided. Space is limited to 25 students per forum, so sign up early for forums you would like to attend. To sign up, sign your name on the list outside Martha Fenn’s office (Rm. 238), or e-mail her (fenn@law.arizona.edu) with the forum you would like to attend. (Because we are not sure what the response will be, we are asking that for now you sign up for no more than 2 forums.) The schedule is as follows:

“Animals in Entertainment:  Keeping Benji Happy and Healthy.” Exciting animal law presentation sponsored by the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF). Monday, September 20 at 12:15 p.m. in Room 106. Presented by Christopher Wencker of Hochuli & Benavidez, P.C.

The Law Women’s Association is pleased to announce that Jane Roberts will be speaking at the law school on Tuesday, September 21 from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. in Room 140. Jane is the co-founder of the 34 Million Friends Campaign, a grassroots organization to raise money for the United Nations Population Fund. There will be a reception following her speech. Please email ana.himelic@law.arizona.edu or sara.lindenbaum@law.arizona.edu if you have any questions.

The Black Law Student Association (BLSA) will be meeting on Thursday, September 23, 12:15 - 1:00 p.m., Room 126. Lunch and drinks will be served. Any questions, contact Harriet Hemerling at harriet.hemerling@law.arizona.edu.

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to volunteer for the September Community Service Board Project on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25. We will be working at the Community Food Bank to assemble emergency food boxes. The completed boxes will be given to needy Tucson families and to non-profit programs for distribution in the community. We will meet in the main lobby of the law school at 8:15 a.m. and then head to the food bank, where we will work from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. If you would like to join us, please e-mail Martha Fenn at fenn@law.arizona.edu or sign up on the sheet posted in the law school lobby. Space is limited, so please sign up early.
