NOVEMBER COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT. The Community Service Board and the Environmental Law Society invite students, faculty and staff to volunteer for the Sabino Canyon Service Project. Come spend a morning at beautiful Sabino Canyon or by the Catalina Highway, recently designated a National Scenic Byway. We will be helping the U.S. Forest Service to remove invasive plants such as buffelgrass, which threaten Sonoran Desert plant species. Buffelgrass kills native plants by competing for water and space, and by providing fuel for wildfires. Training and equipment will be provided; supervised children are welcome. The project takes place on Saturday, November 19, 9:00 a.m. - Noon. We will meet at the law school at 8:15 a.m. and then head out to the work site.
