ANNOUNCEMENTS

Richard Grand Legal Writing Competition:  In recognition of the fifth anniversary of this competition, the topic this year was tort reform. Sixty-two students picked up the problem, and 30 students submitted entries: 12 first years, 9 second years, 7 third years, and 2 LLM students. Professors Anne Ward and Suzanne Rabe are currently reading all the papers in order to choose the five finalists. The finalists’ papers will then be sent to our five judges, who will individually rank the papers. We anticipate that the finalists will be announced by email on or about January 9. The final awards will be announced later in January at a small reception in the Sullivan room. For more information, contact Professor Rabe at rabe@law.arizona.edu.

MUNGER PRIZE FOR SCHOLARS IN INTERNATIONAL AND BUSINESS LAW. The Munger Prize for Scholars in International and Business Law is awarded annually to a student based upon outstanding scholarship and enduring achievement in the areas of international and business law. Enrolled law students and post-graduate students may apply for consideration for this award, which was made possible through the generosity of John F. and Roseann Munger, by submitting a letter of application, a resume, a transcript and two letters of reference to the Financial Services Office, Room 118 of the College. Prize:  $1,000. Deadline for receipt of applications - December 5, 2005, at 5:00 P.M. The recipient will be chosen by a committee composed of Dean Massaro, Professor Kozolchyk, Professor Gantz, and Mr. and Mrs. Munger.
