Based upon the results of the election in the fall, the Class of 2006 May Commencement Speaker will be Justice Scott Bales.

“Outfoxed.”  The ACLU Film Series continues this Tuesday, April 4 at 12:15. We will be showing “Outfoxed,” a documentary film criticizing the Fox news network, in Room 126. Pizza and dessert will be served. Contact Anna Wright at for more information.

The Maricopa County Bar Association (MCBA) Environmental & Natural Resources Law Section invites law students to “The Future of Environmental Law Practice” on Friday, April 28, 2006, from 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. with a networking reception to follow. Panelists include:  Teddy Ryerson from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; Jim Derouin from Steptoe and Johnson LLP; Jerry Warsham II from Gammage and Burnham; Laura Raffelli from the Salt River Project; Kathy Shimpock from Bryan Cave, and Jenny Pelton from Ryley Carlock and Applewhite. The Arizona State Bar Committee on Minorities and Women in the Law presents a panel discussion on “What Hiring Attorneys and Partners Really Want:  How to Succeed During Your Summer Clerkship and 1St Year of Practicing Law," Tuesday, April 4, 2006, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m., College of Law, Room 140. Refreshments will be provided. Come get candid advice from seasoned attorneys. Learn from their experience. Find out what sort of credentials, qualities, and experience will help land you a job! Our panel of local attorneys includes:  Amelia Craig Cramer, Chief Civil Deputy, Office of the Pima County; Attorney Ali Farhang, Senior Associate, Hiring Committee Member, Fennemore Craig; Megan A. Loan Seminar, April 14, 2006 (Friday), Room 146 from 12:15 to 2:00. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED due to limited seating. To reserve a seat contact Kim Marlow in Room 118C and at Students who have borrowed at least one Federal Stafford Loan need to attend. Recent and ongoing changes in laws governing the federal student loan program regarding interest rates; loan consolidation; reconsolidation; grace period after graduation; deferments and forbearances; and new loans available as of July 1, 2006 will be discussed. The presenter has offered to supply lunch (lots of pizza and soda) as well as door prizes.

Extended Law Library Hours during Finals:  The law library will stay open until 11:45 p.m. on Friday, April 28, Saturday, April 29, Friday, May 5, and Saturday, May 6. The library will open at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 30, and Sunday, May 7.
