Informational Sessions - Richard Grand Legal Writing Competition. All students interested in participating in the seventh annual Richard Grand Legal Writing Competition are invited to attend one of the two upcoming informational sessions: Thursday, October 4, at 12:10 in room CC109 or Monday, October 8, at 12:10 in room CC108. Refreshments will be provided. The competition will be held this year from October 19 to October 29. It is open to all students at the Rogers College of Law. The top five student participants will receive cash prizes of: First Place - $2000; Second Place - $1000; Third Place - $500; Honorable Mention - $250 each. This year, the competition will differ a bit from years past. Participants will be asked to write a profile of an individual who has had some experience with the law or the legal system. It could be a lawyer, a judge, a victim, a criminal defendant, a witness, a juror, a litigant, a police officer, a migrant, a civil rights advocate - the possibilities are many. For more information, contact Professor Rabe at rabe@law.arizona.edu.
Arizona Court of Appeals Visit. The Arizona Court of Appeals, Division 2, will hear arguments on Wednesday, October 3, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., in the Ares Auditorium (Room 146) on the main law campus. Copies of the briefs for both arguments are available on the College of Law website via the event guide at: www.law.arizona.edu/news/faculty/ualawevents.cfm.

See you there.
Be cool! Join your friends and colleagues for an ice cream social sponsored by the Admissions Office on Wednesday, October 10 at 3:00 p.m. in the Corelone Student center. AIDSWalk 2007. Please join Phi Alpha Delta, SAHLO, LWA, PrideLaw, and the Community Service Board for AIDSWalk 2007. This is a fantastic service opportunity that is loads of fun. Aidswalk 2007 is an event aimed to raise money for the fight against HIV and AIDS. In the past 18 years, the Southern Arizona Aids Foundation has generated $2,359,500 from AIDSWalk alone. The event takes place on Sunday, October 14th. The 10K begins at 7:00 a.m. and the 5K walk begins at 8:30 a.m. Both have a registration fee of $10. Last year there were live bands, a rock climbing wall, and a mini zip line. Please visit www.firstgiving.com/PhiAlphaDelta to register or to donate. We hope you all consider participating in this event. Visit www.aidswalktucson.com for more information.
