Five Arizona Law Alums Leading Efforts to Legally Prosecute Non-Indians

Fred Urbina ('08), Pascua Yaqui chief prosecutor; Mercedes Garcia ('11; LLM '12), assistant prosecutor; Fred Lomayesva ('90), assistant prosecutor; Johanna Shortbull ('09), juvenile justice advocate; and Wenona Benally Baldenegro (LLM '11), assistant attorney general, are leading efforts in a pilot project to prosecute non-Indians facing charges of domestic violence against Native American women of the Pascua Yaqui tribe.
