Wednesday, March 6, the Program in Criminal Law & Policy Speaker Series is pleased to welcome Sheronda Jordan, Forensic Examiner Manager at the Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault (SACASA). She will be here to discuss Medical-Forensic Examinations and other SACASA Services.
Medical-Forensic nurses collect important evidence in sexual assault cases in a way that attempts not to re-traumatize the victim. Under the Violence Against Women Act, victims of sexual assault have the right to request a medical-forensic examination without any conditions.
This event is open to everyone, and CLE credit will be available to Arizona attorneys.
We will meet in Room 118. Pizza will be served at 12:05pm, with the discussion beginning at 12:15pm and ending by 1:20pm. |

Here Come the Feds: Research Tips from Federal Law Clerks and Judges
Megan Austin, current Law Library Fellow and former U.S. Federal Court Pro Se Staff Attorney, will lead the presentation which includes video of interviews with current Capital Case Staff Attorney, Magistrate Judge Law Clerk, a Magistrate Judge and a District Judge. The Staff Attorney and law clerk share research tips and strategies for federal court, and the Judges talk about what makes a good law clerk in federal court. This presentation is informative for people who are interested in practicing in federal court, being a federal law clerk, or even being a federal magistrate judge or district judge.

Dean Nailon will also discuss the summer judicial externship program. Attend either Thursday or Friday for valuable tips on continuing your summer job search. |
