|The Legal Writing Program seeks applications from second-year and third-year students who are interested in being Writing Fellows for spring semester 2014. Each Fellow will be assigned to a writing professor to help with mentoring first-year students, critiquing papers, writing sample answers, teaching classes, and holding office hours. Classroom Writing Fellows will receive three hours of graded credit. That credit is not subject to the curve.
There may also be some Senior Writing Fellow positions available. Senior Writing Fellows assist Professor Gin and me with the administration of the writing program by creating assignments, researching problems, writing sample answers, arranging for guest speakers, and completing other tasks as requested. Senior Writing Fellows receive two or three units of graded credit (not subject to the curve).
To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume, and writing sample to JJ Arevalo (the legal writing administrative assistant) at firstname.lastname@example.org. In an addendum to your cover letter, indicate:
* the name of your fall 1L writing professor,
* the name of your spring 1L writing professor,
* the name of your Advanced Legal Writing professor (if you have taken Advanced Legal Writing),
* your phone number,
* your e-mail address, and
* whether you prefer a Classroom Writing Fellow position or a Senior Writing Fellow position
The application deadline is noon on Friday, October 11.
We will conduct interviews the week of October 14. Once you submit your application, JJ will contact you to arrange an interview time. Although interviews are optional, we strongly encourage you to schedule one.
Please feel welcome to contact Professor Gin or me if you have any questions.
