The Black Law Student Association will be holding a series of panel discussions in February in recognition of Black History Month. All forums will meet in the Ares Auditorium (Room 164), 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.; lunch will be catered.
- Thursday, February 13 - Schoolhouse to Jailhouse: The School to Prison Pipeline. A discussion of practices within the school system which place a high number of African-American youth in the prison system. Panelists include the Honorable Ronald Wilson, Pastor Elwood McDowell, and Daisy Jenkins, Esquire.
- Tuesday, February 18 - The Era of Trayvon: Understanding Stand-Your-Ground Laws. A discussion of stand-your-ground laws and other legislation negatively impacting the African-American community. Panelists to be announced.
- Tuesday, February 25 - 60 Years After Brown v. Board of Education: African-Americans in Education. Panelists to be announced.
