Brenda Burman ('96) has been appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary for Water and Science

Brenda Burman ('96) has been appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary for Water and Science at the Department of the Interior. Assistant Deputy Secretary of the Interior Kameran Onley today announced the appointment of Brenda W. Burman of Arizona, as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Water and Science at the Department of the Interior.

In this position, Burman will act as the Deputy to the Assistant Secretary for Water and Science focusing her attention on Bureau of Reclamation issues. Burman comes to the position from the Bureau Where she was Deputy Commissioner for External and Intergovernmental Affairs.

Ms. Burman brings a wealth of experience to her new position having served previously as Counselor to the Assistant Secretary for Water and Science, as a staff member to a United States Senator, a private practice natural resources attorney and a National Park Service Ranger.

Burman graduated from Kenyon College, Gambier, Ohio and earned her J.D. from the University of Arizona, College of Law. She is licensed to practice law in Wyoming, Colorado and Arizona. She resides in Washington, DC.
