In Memoriam - Judge John F. Molloy, 1917 - 2008

The Arizona Law community mourns the death of Judge John F. Molloy, Class of '46, on July 12, 2008. Judge Molloy started his judicial career in 1957 as a judge on the Pima county Superior Court. In 1961, he becamse a justice on the Arizona Court of Appeals; he served as the Chief Judge of that court from 1967 - 1969. He was president of Molloy, Jones, Donahue, the largest law firm in southern Arizona, from 1969 to 1991. His 2004 book, The Fraternity - Lawyers and Judges in Collusion, took on what Judge Molloy believed was an overemphasis on profit-making by lawyers. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Boyer Lefferts Molloy, and his first wife, Josephine Molloy, five children, and numerous grandchildren.
