Rogers College of Law. Student winners of the 2008 competition, announced January 30, were:
Using a legal problem prepared by Arizona Law faculty, students prepared an editorial or an op-ed piece on an issue involving the death penalty. The student writing was judged for accuracy, brevity, clarity and persuasiveness. Judges included: The Hon. Rebecca White Berch, Arizona Supreme Court; The Hon. Javier Chon-Lopez, Pima County Superior Court; lawyer Lacey Gard, Office of the Arizona Attorney General, political reporter Daniel Scarpinato, Arizona Daily Star, and the Editor-in-Chief of Arizona Attorney magazine, Tim Eigo.
