In Memoriam - Ira Tepper, Class of 1990

Ira Tepper, originally of Brooklyn and Roslyn, New York, lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer January 13, 2009, in Tucson, Arizona. He was 79. Ira possessed a remarkable intelligence, charm and precision, which he brought to his practice of obstetrics and gynecology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, as well as to his life's pursuits. He is equally remembered for his thoughtfulness, good humor, impeccable memory and abiding love and care for others. Ira's love of learning led him to develop a passion for opera, golf, art and politics, create a catalogue of his grandchildren's accomplishments, and pursue a law degree at the age of 56. He appreciated the small things in life, and let everyone in his life know that they were appreciated. He is an alumnus of Brooklyn Technical High School, Baylor University, SUNY Downstate Medical School and the University of Arizona Law School. Ira is survived by his wife Evelyn, children Jay Tepper (Suzanne), Janie Goodwin (Donald), and grandchildren Amanda and Sophie Goodwin and Sam and Sara Tepper.
