A panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals will hear two cases, Tuesday, October 20, 2009, beginning at 10:00 a.m., in the Ares Auditorium, James E. Rogers College of Law. Associate Justice Sandra Day O'Connor (Retired), Supreme Court of the United States, will sit on this panel, along with Chief Judge Alex Kozinski and Circuit Judge Sandra Segal Ikuta. The cases they will hear are:

• ASU Students for Life v. Crow, challenging the constitutionality of ASU&rsquo:s insurance requirement for off-campus groups or entities and ASU’s “one-zone” reservation requirement.
• Gonzalez v. State of Arizona, challenging the constitutionality of Arizona's requirement of proof of citizenship to register to vote and proof of identification to vote in person on election day.
