High schoolers shine at 2010 Law Camp

Some twenty high school students served on simulated trial teams, honing their analytical skills and courtroom presentations, as Arizona Law’s 2010 Law Camp concluded on Friday, June 11. The week-long program, an annual summer offering at the College, exposed students in grades 8 - 11 to fundamentals in law and the legal profession. Instructed by 2nd and 3rd year law students under the supervision of Professors Paul Bennett and Kenney Hegland, students were exposed to concepts such as civil rights, due process, constitutionality, and standards of evidence, as well as learning courtroom procedures. The program culminated in mock trial presentations where Professor Bennett served as the judge and family members sat as jurors. Pictures of law campers at work are shown below.
