American Bar Association Honors Professor Dobbs

On July 27, 2010, the American Bar Association (ABA) announced that the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section will honor Professor Dan Dobbs with the Robert B. McKay Law Professor Award. This award was created to honor attorneys committed to the advancement of justice, scholarship and the legal profession, as demonstrated by their contributions to the fields of tort and insurance law. The award will be presented to Dobbs at 6:30 p.m., Aug. 8, at San Francisco City Hall, during the section’s Leadership and Awards Dinner of the 2010 ABA Annual Meeting.

For more information, see the press release here. In addition to the books mentioned in the press release, Prof. Dobbs also wrote The Law of Torts (2001), a two-volume treatise. He also clerked for Judge John E. Miller in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas.
