Prof. Anaya Praises New Congolese Law on Indigenous Peoples

On January 7, 2011, Prof. Anaya, Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms of Indigenous Peoples, issued a statement praising a new Congolese law on indigenous peoples, saying the law is a "significant step in recognizing and protecting the rights of marginalized indigenous peoples of the country."
