Jessup International Law Moot Court World-Cup Rounds

Eighty-five countries from every corner of the world participated in last week’s 2011 Jessup world-cup rounds in Washington, D.C., which addressed several timely issues in public international law. After winning two rounds (against U. Cal. Hastings and Chihuahua, Mexico) and losing two rounds (against Belgium and American University) the UA team, consisting of Steve Elzinga, David Friedman, Lauren Gizinski, Jacob Lee, and M.J. Vuinovich, finished the competition in sixth place out of approximately 500 American schools and 38th out of 120 teams from around the world. M.J. Vuinovich and David Friedman won awards for 19th and 26th ranked oralists respectively, and the team’s overall oral scores ranked in the top 25 percent. The team’s Memorials scores ranked 32nd of 120.

Please congratulate these students for their excellence in representing our College of Law
