College of Law to Host Naturalization Ceremony, Friday, April 1
Twenty-six new American citizens from 24 countries will take the Oath of Allegiance at a naturalization ceremony on Friday, April 1, 2011, 10:00 a.m., in the Lewis and Roca Lobby at the College of Law. This marks the second year a ceremony has been held at the school as part of a collaboration between future lawyers attending the school and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Tucson Field Office. The Immigration Law Student Association (ILSA) in association with USCIS and the James E. Rogers College of Law organized the event as part of the group’s overall mission of public education about immigration issues.
District Court Judge Frank Zapata will administer the Oath and Pima County Superior Court Judge Javier Chon-Lopez will be the guest speaker. USCIS Tucson Field Office Director Al Gallmann will represent USCIS.
