Overview

This is a survey course covering the main areas of intellectual property law—patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. It introduces each subject and explores commonalities and differences among the different systems of intellectual property protection. This course is intended for students interested in practicing in the Intellectual Property area who would like an introduction to IP law or for those students who may not plan to practice in the IP area but are interested in an introduction and overview of the law.
