Domestic Violence Seminar
This seminar examines the various methods of state intervention into the family when matters of domestic violence are at issue and reviews current state and federal statutes, and policies employed by the judiciary, prosecutors and law enforcement to address family violence. Students analyze the response to state intervention by legal practitioners, feminist legal scholars, critical race theorists, social science experts and the families impacted by state intervention. The goal of the course is to develop model rules of practice for state intervention into the lives of families plagued by domestic violence.
