Overview

An introduction to the roles that lawyers play in our legal system; the structure of today’s legal profession; the basis for the lawyer's responsibilities to clients, courts, the profession, and society generally; the prevailing rules of legal ethics; and the expanding body of law that governs lawyers in addition to the ethics rules.

 

Please note:  This class is a 2 unit course.  It will not begin until Wednesday, September 7.  It is scheduled to meet twice a week for 75 minutes in order to make up the four classes missed on August 24, 26, 31, and September 2, as well as for the two Friday classes missed on Nov. 11 and Nov. 25.  Classes through October 14 will meet for 75 minutes; beginning October 19, classes will meet for 50 minutes.
